We are the lost ones, gone before our time
Full of hopes and dreams and a desire to live life to the fullest
We wanted the world.
We are the lost ones hear our tale sad but true.
We lived in the moment, jumped from one thing to another.
Daring and driven full of our aspirations,
Thinking we could beat the odds
We were young and ambitious
So sure we were incapable of death at so young
We were young. What else was there to believe?
Laughing at danger and trusting ourselves
We played we laughed and thought we were immortal
How wrong could we be?
One night and on to day, we rode that train,
The train of life it was and is
We played it, gambled with high stakes, and lost.
Now we have to pay the piper and he is not one to jest.
A wooden bed is our mantel and a tombstone our crown,
We were young, gambled with death, and lost.
So those who would follow in our ways,
Listen to this tale, our tale and learn
Not to follow the path we trod:
We are the lost ones, gone before our time.
